His artistic
career took a new turn when he met Dana Kawano at an art exhibit in 2001.
"When I saw Dana's art, and I didn't say anything, she thought I didn't
like it," he remembers. "In fact, I was so blown away by the similarities
in our workthe subject matters, palettes and mediumsthat I was
afraid I would scare her off. I realized that something had been missing,
and it was there in her work. It was like I had been painting with a primary
color missing from my palette." The two began a unique artistic collaboration
that continues to this day. Together, they founded the style they call "Transfigurism,"
which allows Loy to explore, in stunning new ways, his obsession with color.

my life. It has tremendous healing potential that I want to share with others,
especially children."
